Get set to walk, jog and run as registrations are now open for the 2022 QUT Classic. Into its tenth year, the Classic brings together the community in the spirit of health and fitness whilst raising important funds for the QUT Learning Potential Fund.
Starting and finishing at QUT’s inner city Gardens Point Campus the 1km, 5km and 10km routes promise to take you on an enjoyable path with Brisbane city and its surrounds.
This inclusive family friendly event brought together over 1,000 participants in 2021 and is set to reach new heights in 2022, a decade after the inaugural event was launched in 2013.
QUT Sports Manager Emily Rosemond said the event is organised with families in mind and endeavours to bring the community together.
‘Participating in health and fitness opportunities is an important part of the University experience for our students, staff and also the wider community and the QUT Classic has been a mainstay to that experience over the past decade,’ she said.
This year the Classic is set to stage a festival themed atmosphere which includes live entertainment, food trucks, prizes across all running categories, healthy fruit and giveaways and fun for the whole family.
The QUT Classic raises funds for the Learning Potential Fund, the largest perpetual fund of its scale in Australia.
The LPF fund creates a tangible and long-lasting opportunity for students, helping finance a portfolio of more than 2,000 scholarships annually, and has provided more than 30,000 scholarships and bursaries since 1998.
