Dear QUT Graduate,
Our theme for this edition, "Global careers", is more than just a catchy phrase. It encapsulates the essence of what many of us have pursued – careers that transcend borders, cultures, and expectations.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the notion of professional success has expanded to encompass the ability to operate effectively on a global stage, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and adapting to a diverse array of challenges.
As a fellow QUT alumnus and career diplomat, I can attest to the unparalleled growth that arises from embracing such a career trajectory - one that has taken me from the heart of Washington to the vibrant markets of India and Nigeria, and the complex landscapes of Afghanistan.
As we embark on this exploration of global careers, let’s celebrate the connections that bind us, the opportunities that await us, and the profound impact we can make. Through the stories that follow, may you find inspiration, insights, and a renewed sense of pride in our shared journey as QUT alumni.
Wishing you all a truly enlightening read.
Your guest editor,
