Entrepreneurs and innovators: Making things happen
|
Dear QUT graduate,
In a changing world of disruptive technologies, specialised skills, and global competition it is more important than ever to harness every opportunity possible to achieve your goals. This could mean taking on a new venture, looking for new ways to grow your business or taking the first steps in making a vision into a reality. This month we are looking down the lens at entrepreneurship and how it is now an essential item in the modern toolkit for success.
I am Sandra Mau, VP of Cloud & Government Solutions at Clarivate, and I will be your guest editor in this month’s exciting edition of the QUT alumni newsletter.
Throughout my journey since graduating from QUT with an MBA, having an entrepreneurial mindset has been essential to my success. Without this I could not have founded my start-up company TrademarkVision which uses artificial intelligence to protect corporate brands; nor would I have had the networks or roadmap to move this into the next stage of being acquired by Clarivate. I've learned that entrepreneurial skills, such as innovation, leadership, persistence and adaptability, are skills that are extensible and important to almost any kind of company, whether it's a start-up of two or a listed company of 11,000 employees. My entrepreneurial journey has allowed me to achieve a dream for TrademarkVision to use AI to make images more accessible and to make a significant impact on an industry and I encourage you to keeping striving for your next goal!
So please enjoy this month’s newsletter that celebrates QUT’s entrepreneurial heritage and future plans, and enjoy reading about the impact our entrepreneurial programs, research, staff and alumni are making!
