When I was awarded QUT Health Alumnus of the Year in 2020, it was one of the most significant milestones in my career. To be invited to contribute to the QUT alumni newsletter as a guest editor has simply reminded me of the privilege of being associated with QUT, for which I am truly grateful.
The topic of ‘generational wellbeing’ is one which I take very seriously. It emphasises not only the right of our children to experience a healthy environment, but also the undeniable link between our own wellbeing with that of future generations.
To guarantee the future of the next generation of Queenslanders and to defend their right to a healthy environment, we need to create supportive villages that foster good health and wellbeing.
A shift in health outcomes at this stage will require every single one of us to help Queensland children enjoy their right to grow up in a healthy environment. I dive deeper into how we can all work to effect meaningful change for the future health and wellbeing of our State here.
In my opinion, QUT is a village in its own right. It comprises past, present, and future graduates progressing change through a variety of industries and regions. This edition of the newsletter features Q&A sessions and articles from fellow alumni, exploring their diverse approaches to enhancing both personal and community wellbeing.
Collectively, this village has the power to make healthy happen.
Warm regards,
