Dear QUT graduate,
Welcome to the second edition of the QUT alumni newsletter for the year. As the Indigenous Chair in Creative Industries and a QUT arts alumnus, this month's theme aligns closely with my career journey and passions.
Around this time last year, I returned to QUT to start my new role as the Indigenous Chair. Telling stories that change the world is my genuine lofty ambition and over the last twelve months I’ve been supporting learning, teaching, research and outreach across the Creative Industries, assisting in making meaningfully connections with Indigenous communities, and building pathways to fulfilling careers for Indigenous students. You can read more about my role at QUT here.
It’s a delight to see members of the QUT community acknowledged for their work in the creative world over the last few months. Locally, QUT Art Museum featured graduates in their recent Thinking into Being: QUT Alumni Triennial exhibition. Meanwhile, QUT Design Lab and QUT Art Museum staff received the prestigious Gold Award in the IAUD International Design Awards in recognition of their world-leading art accessibility project.
Find out what else is happening in the creative spaces across the university and out in the real world in this month's newsletter.
Our thoughts are with all community members who are being directly impacted by the recent weather events.
